KCR promises 50 lakh jobs

K. Chandrasekhar Rao

TRS chief harps on ITIR project and world-class Hyderabad

The TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao harped on Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) project in Hyderabad promising 50 lakh jobs and creating a world class city.
In his first ever election meeting in GHMC limits at Alwal here on Saturday, Mr. Rao said a dynamic and committed leader only can ensure that the ITIR project is grounded properly and Hyderabad is turned into a world-class city inviting investments. Only TRS can provide such leadership.
He said Congress leaders ‘controlled’ and ‘guided’ by leaders from Seemandhra region can never provide a corruption-free government, which is necessary for the growth of Telangana. Despite the new State taking shape the old issues of employees and water are yet to be sorted out and only TRS has the guts to take up them.
The TRS chief, apparently to appeal to seemandhra voters, said the TRS respects them as long as they live in harmony and not boss over the locals. “They should realise the aspirations of Telangana people of self-rule and self-respect. We will not tolerate any bossism,” he said referring to Seemandhra employees’ agitations in Secretariat. Appealing to the Muslim community, he said the Wakf Board will have judicial powers in the Telangana government and reiterated his commitment to 12 per cent reservations to minorities. He said 1.4 lakh acres were donated by landlords of districts surrounding Hyderabad and one lakh of those have been occupied. The new government will take back those lands at any cost.
Stating that the BJP-TDP alliance was not in the interests of the new State, he called upon the youngsters not to waste their votes but choose the TRS candidates so that Telangana can have its say in Parliament. He said there was a TRS wave in Telangana and none can stop it. Malkajgiri MP candidate, Mynampalli Hanumantha Rao and Assembly candidate, T. Kanaka Reddy spoke. Candidates from other constituencies were present.
